Alumni Drive Closure, November 4 to 7

Beginning the morning of Friday, November 4th, Alumni Drive will experience a closure between the Fine Arts Building and the Admin/Humanities Building. This closure expected to last until the morning of Monday, November 7th; however, the work is weather dependent and may take longer. This closure is to accomplish emergency excavation work as a follow-up to this past weekend's storm drain repairs.

The Fine Arts Building and its associated drop-off loop and parking lot will be accessible from the northern section of Alumni Drive. The Admin/Humanities loop will also be accessible. There is no anticipated impact to pedestrian paths.

Alumni Drive Partial Closure, Oct 29 & 30

Alumni Drive will experience a closure between the East Parking Garage and the Fine Arts Building Saturday, October 29th to Sunday, October 30th. This closure is to conduct repairs to campus storm drains. The East Parking Garage and Arts Parking Lot will both be accessible during this time.

Alumni Loop Lane Restrictions for Oct 15th and 16th.

Alumni Loop will be restricted to a single lane this weekend, Oct 15th and 16th. Contractors will be making repairs to the underground infrastructure. ECB Power Outage Early Morning of October 7

The Engineering & Computation Building will experience a short power outage from 6:00 am to 8:00 am on Friday, October 7th. This outage is to test power systems in the building. We do not anticipate disruption after 8:00 am.

ML&P Emergency Cable Replacement along Providence Drive

Beginning as early as Friday, September 16th, Municipal Light & Power will be conducting work along the north side of Providence Drive between UAA Drive and Elmore Road. This is emergency work to replace main feeder cables that supply portions of the UAA, PAMC, and APU campuses.

Please be aware of traffic restrictions in this area over the next several weeks.

EIB Sidewalk and Lot Closure

Contractors will be working on a pedestrian fence along a portion of the EIB/South lot boundary. To facilitate this work a portion of the adjacent South Parking Lot and surrounding sidewalks will be closed from Friday (9/9) to Tuesday (9/13) Morning (7-10am). 

Engineering Parking Garage is Open

The Engineering Parking Garage is open and available for parking. The top level is currently closed. No special permit is required. The garage can be accessed via a new service road off of Mallard Lane. The garage is connected to the Engineering & Computational Building by a skybridge, allowing for easy access to the campus spine network. A new shuttle stop is also located outside the garage.

Water Outage for ECB, August 26th

On Friday, August 26th from approximately 8:00 am to 11:00 am the water to the Engineering & Computational Building (formerly the Engineering Building) will be offline as crews address an issue with the water meter. Restroom facilities in the Natural Sciences Building will be available for building occupants.

High Voltage Switchgear Testing, August 8th

On August 8th from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm we will be conducting preventative maintenance work on the High Voltage Switchgear A that provides electricity to several central and east campus facilities. We do not expect power outages as a result of this work; however, brief outages have occurred in the past from this work. UAA electricians will be standing by to respond if this occurs.

Should an outage occur the following buildings will be affected:

• Bookstore
• Central Parking Garage
• Energy Modules 1 and 2
• Engineering Building (ECB)
• Natural Sciences Building
• Social Sciences Building
• Student Union
• Wells Fargo Sports Complex

South Lot Resurfacing, August 1 and 2

On August 1 and 2 the South Parking Lot will be closed for resurfacing. Please utilize other parking lots on West Campus during this time.

Parking Lot Work to Begin July 27, 2016

Please be aware of intermittent parking lot closures over the coming weeks beginning July 27, 2016 due to painting and line striping in all lots across campus. Work to be performed is weather dependent and will be completed in the evening hours as much as possible, though some lots may be impacted during business hours. This work may also require that parking garages are closed intermittently to refresh paint and perform routine annual maintenance.

Partial Closure of Alumni Drive, Starting July 25

Starting Monday, July 25th, the east-bound lane of Alumni Drive near East Campus Central Lot will be temporarily closed. This closure is part of an effort to locate a leak in the local water main. This closure is expected to last several days.

Traffic will be managed via flaggers while active excavation occurs and an automatic red/green light control will be utilized when crews are not present.

Excavation Work in East Campus Centra Lot, Beginning 7/18

Minor excavation work in East Campus Central Lot will begin on Monday, July 18th. This work will consume approximately 8 spaces. Contractors and equipment may operate outside of the boundaries, so please be aware.

This work is to follow up on last week's investigation into a potential water main leak. No disruption to building water service is expected at this time.

PSB Power Outage Scheduled for July 15th

The Professional Studies Building will experience a 24-hour power shutoff beginning 6:00 pm Friday, July 15th and last until 6:00 pm Saturday, July 16th. This outage is necessary to accomplish work related to the Pharmacy program renovation within PSB.

East Campus Water Outage, July 8th

A water outage is scheduled for East Campus the morning of July 8th. The shutoff will begin at 6:30 am and may last until noon. 

EBL, SSB, and the Library will be affected by the outage; however, there is a possibility other buildings on East Campus will be affected.

This shutoff is to investigate a potential leak in the water main under Alumni Drive. During this time the east-bound lane of Alumni Drive will be closed near East Campus Central Lot (see the map below). Flaggers will be present to facilitate traffic flow.

June 20-30 Paving Work at Intersection of West Campus Drive and Seawolf Drive

Starting 7:00 am Wednesday, June 29th and ending the evening of Thursday, June 30th GMG Paving will be conducting repairs on the intersection of West Campus Drive and Seawolf Drive. Barricades and signage will be present to indicate a different traffic pattern.

During this time repairs to manholes along Mallard Lane will be occurring. Mallard Lane will not be closed due to this work; however, flaggers will be present to assist with traffic flow.

Engineering Building Atrium Closed, May 9 to Fall 2016

Beginning Monday, May 9th the atrium of the Engineering Building will be closed for renovation. The atrium will remain closed through the summer and will reopen for the fall semester.

The spine will remain open and people must utilize the stairwell and elevator in the spine tower to transfer between floors. Signage will be placed in the area to direct people.

SU Service Lot Seal-coating May 7-8; Impacts to Spirit Drive

On Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8th, the intersection of Spirit Drive next to the ANSEP building will be closed. This is to conduct seal-coating activities in the intersection and the service lot behind the Student Union.

Access to South Lot, the Engineering & Industry Building, the Student Union, and the Bookstore will be maintained via Seawolf Drive. Pedestrian access to ANSEP will be maintained.

Alumni Drive Closure, 3/25 to 3/26

Alumni Drive between UAA Drive and the driveway to EBL will be closed from 7:00 am Friday, March 25th to the evening of Saturday, March 26th. EBL, East Campus Central Lot, and Central Garage will be accessible from the east during this time.

This work is to conduct repairs to the road surface.
