CPISB Boiler shutdown, 9/24 to 9/27

From Thursday, September 24th to Sunday, September 27th the boilers that heat the ConocoPhillips Integrated Sciences Building will be offline for repair. Facilities personnel have reviewed the weather forecast and determined that it is safe to proceed with repairs to piping. Outdoor temperatures will make the building cold, but should not cause any freezing.

Building fans will be managed in a way to retain as much heat as possible; however, labs require several air changes per hour. Electric heaters will be used in critical areas where electrical circuits allow.

This activity will impact the comfort of building occupants. We strongly encourage students, faculty, and staff in the CPISB to dress warmly.

We apologize for any inconvenience. These repairs must be completed before winter.

UAA Drive Full Closure, August 8 & 9 and August 15 & 16

UAA Drive will experience a full-closure the weekends of August 8 & 9 and August 15 & 16. These closures are necessary for Neeser Construction to safely connect Mallard Lane to UAA Drive.

UAA Drive will be closed from south of Widgeon Lane to Alumni Drive (map below). The closures will be in effect between 8:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. Monday for both weekends. The work will entail:

  • August 8 & 9: installation of a storm drain across UAA Drive and Mallard Lane and construction of medians
  • August 15 & 16: paving work around the UAA Drive and Mallard Lane intersection
The project team discussed trying to accomplish this work through individual lane closures; however, this would be impractical because of the nature of the work. Condensing the work to these two weekends allows Neeser to complete the work quickly and safely before the fall semester begins.
